Supportive Services for Veteran Families

Through a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation launched the SSVF program in December 2013.

The SSVF program is designed to promote housing stability among very low-income veterans and veteran families who reside in or are transitioning to permanent housing. It serves veterans from Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Franklin, Isle of Wight and Southampton.

Eligible veterans may receive the following services: rental assistance, security deposits, emergency and general housing assistance, utility assistance, moving costs, transportation, child care, and emergency supplies.
